We are way behind on new Cobalt models. The last time this site did a proper lineup post we were talking 2009 videos and the 276 / 296. I still get email about 232s and 343s, which is fine, that is who we are, but the factory book moved. Cobalt’s current production list, copied on August 31, 2026 from cobaltboats.com/models, is 24 boats in three classes. I am not inventing a 25th. /boats and /news 404. News lives on their blog.
Sterndrive (10): R35, R35 Coupe, R33, R31, R26, R8, R4, CS23, CS22, A29.
Surf (7): R35 Surf, R33 Surf, R31 Surf, R26 Surf, R8 Surf, R4 Surf, CS23 Surf.
Outboard / Coastal (7): R35 Coastal, R35 Coastal Coupe, R33 Coastal, R31 Coastal, R8 Coastal, R6 Coastal, R4 Coastal.
That is the whole current book. No 30SC. No sterndrive R6. No surf R6. Those two slots are now the R26 and the R26 Surf, which Cobalt put on the homepage this month: “The Wait Is Over. The all-new R26 and R26 Surf have arrived.” Press date August 13, 2026. Those are the only models with 2026-08 photo folders. The outboard sibling in that size is still named R6 Coastal. There is no R26 Coastal. There is no CS22 Surf. There is no A-series surf or coastal. A-series on the factory site is one boat, the A29.
On MyCobalt we still have strong categories for the old numeric boats (232, 220, 252, 343…) and a little R3 / R5 / R7 / R30 / R35 plus A25 / A28, R7 Surf, 23SC, 220S, CS23, CS7, CM23. Almost none of the current R4 / R8 / R26 / A29 / Coastal names existed as posts until this week. I am writing them now so the club actually matches the book. First the two new 26s, then this roundup, then the R8, R4, A29, R31, and CS22. CS23 was already here. CS22 sits under it. A29 follows the A25 / A28 pages we already had.
A few naming traps, because Cobalt is not helping. Official product-page titles are the ones I am using (R31 Coastal, R35 Coastal Coupe). Homepage marketing still says “R31 Coastal Edition.” Press releases often say R31 OB or R35 Outboard Coupe. Same boats. The R26 is shorter than the R8. Do not shop by the number alone. Lengths, from the factory cards: CS22 22′ 5″, CS23 23′ 5″, R4 24′ 3″, R26 26′ 5″, R8 27′ 10″, A29 29′ 0″, R31 31′ 5″, R33 33′ 4″, R35 35′ 4″. Coastal R31 is the odd one at 32′ 8″ because the outboards hang off the transom. R6 Coastal, still in the book, is 25′ 5″.
What is actually new versus what we just never posted: R26 and R26 Surf are the 2026 arrivals. The R31 sterndrive was a 2025 model-year intro (FLIBS 2024). R31 Surf went public at the January 2025 Atlanta show. R35 Surf and R35 Coastal Coupe are 2025 boats still in the book. R31 Coastal is a homepage feature (“Crafted for the Coastline”) with an October 7, 2025 press date, not this week’s launch. I am not going to pretend those 2025 boats just arrived. We were late on those too. This roundup is the map. The model posts are the close-ups.
