Homepage still leads with this one. Official product-page title: R31 Coastal. Homepage marketing says “R31 Coastal Edition.” The October 7, 2025 press said R31 OB. Same boat. It is a homepage feature (“If you live for salt spray the R31 Coastal Edition is the boat you’ve been waiting for”), not the August 2026 R26 launch. We were late anyway.
This is the odd length in the R31 family. Sterndrive R31 and R31 Surf are 31′ 5″. The Coastal card is 32′ 8″ because the outboards hang off the transom. Beam stays 9′ 10″. Fuel stays 160 gallons. Yacht Certified, head yes. Twin Yamaha or Mercury in the press. Rear-facing Sunpad Extendable Lounge, optional Seakeeper, hull-side windows, rear-view camera, and the full Coastal Edition saltwater package. That is the October press recap, not me inventing a brochure.
Factory specs
- LOA: 32′ 8″
- Beam: 9′ 10″
- Fuel: 160 gal
- Capacity: Yacht Certified
- Head: yes
Coastal Edition package, as Cobalt prints it: stainless, sealed electrics, water management, coastal GPS, carpet-free storage, redundant bilge, self-bailing cockpit. I do not have a dry weight or draft on the card I copied, so those are omitted. Siblings: R31 is the sterndrive. R31 Surf is the wake boat. R31 Coastal is this outboard. Do not shop the three of them by the number 31 alone. One of them is almost 33 feet.
I used to think 31 feet was getting out of “day boat,” then I remembered the 343. This one is still a runabout with outboards, a 160-gallon tank, and a saltwater package. If you took delivery after that October press and we never asked, that is on me.
Owner photos to editor@mycobalt.net. I live in the Seattle area and I still take rides. If this Coastal bumped the old Cobalt out of the slip, list it here for $25 (or $50 premium). This is not a for-sale post.
