The R6 name is not gone. It just moved. Sterndrive R6 and surf R6 are out of the current book; those slots are the R26 and the R26 Surf. The outboard sibling is still named R6 Coastal. There is no R26 Coastal. If you wanted a ~25-foot Cobalt with motors on the transom, this is the one they left in the catalog.
The card: 25′ 5″, 8′ 6″ beam, 80 gallons, 14 persons. Same 8′ 6″ trailer beam as the R4 / R26 / R8 / CS pack. Longer than the R4 Coastal, shorter than the R8 Coastal. Not a 2026 launch. We just never posted it.
Factory specs
- LOA: 25′ 5″
- Beam: 8′ 6″
- Fuel: 80 gal
- Capacity: 14 persons
- Head: yes on the homepage/class spec card; the product page also describes a head compartment as an option
I am printing both head lines because Cobalt did. Class card says yes. Interior copy on the product page talks about a head as an option. Look at the boat, not at me. Fourteen people is the printed capacity, same person-count as the new R26 press. Eighty gallons is the same tank size as the sterndrive R8, on a shorter hull. Coastal Edition saltwater package, as Cobalt prints it: stainless, sealed electrics, water management, coastal GPS, carpet-free storage, redundant bilge, self-bailing cockpit. I do not have a dry weight, a draft, or an engine list on the card I copied, so those are omitted.
If you are running an R6 Coastal, send pictures to editor@mycobalt.net. I live in the Seattle area and I still take rides. Selling the old one to make room? List it here for $25 (or $50 premium). This post is not a boat for sale.
