Cobalt’s R33 Coastal

Cobalt R33 Coastal

Product page title: R33 Coastal. Current outboard book, never a MyCobalt page. Not new this August. The card lists LOA without engines at 33′ 4″, beam 10′ 6″, fuel 225 gallons, Yacht Certified, head yes. Same length and beam as the sterndrive R33 and the R33 Surf. The tank is the tell: sterndrive R33 is 150 gallons. This one is 225.

Coastal Edition saltwater package, as printed: stainless, sealed electrics, water management, coastal GPS, carpet-free storage, redundant bilge, self-bailing cockpit. I am not adding a bottom-paint speech. Siblings are the R33 sterndrive and the R33 Surf. This page is the outboard.

Factory specs

  • LOA (w/o engines): 33′ 4″
  • Beam: 10′ 6″
  • Fuel: 225 gal
  • Capacity: Yacht Certified
  • Head: yes

Cobalt bothered to write “w/o engines” on this LOA. I am leaving that on the line instead of guessing a motors-on length. No dry weight, draft, or engine list on the card I copied. Factory page for the outboard chart. It sits between the R31 Coastal (32′ 8″, 160 gallons) and the R35 Coastal (35′ 4″, 250 gallons) on paper. Whether it feels like a 33 or a 35 with the motors hanging off, I will take an owner’s word over mine.

If you run one in salt, send pictures to editor@mycobalt.net. I live in the Seattle area. If the R33 Coastal means the old boat is coming out of the slip, advertise it for $25 (or $50 premium). This is not a listing.
