We posted the sterndrive R4. The current book also has the R4 Coastal, and I skipped it. Same 24′ 3″ length, same 8′ 6″ beam, still 13 persons, still no head. The tank is the difference: 70 gallons on the outboard card, 50 on the sterndrive. Not a 2026 launch. Smallest Coastal in the current 24.
Siblings: R4 is the sterndrive. R4 Surf is the wake boat. R4 Coastal is this outboard. There is no smaller Coastal. If you trailer an 8′ 6″ Cobalt and you want saltwater hardware without going up to the R6 Coastal’s 25′ 5″, this is the one on the list.
Factory specs
- LOA: 24′ 3″
- Beam: 8′ 6″
- Fuel: 70 gal
- Capacity: 13 persons
- Head: no
Seventy gallons is more range than the sterndrive R4’s 50, which is the whole point of the outboard tank if you actually leave the bay. No head is the honest line, same as the sterndrive and surf R4 cards. Coastal Edition package, as printed: stainless, sealed electrics, water management, coastal GPS, carpet-free storage, redundant bilge, self-bailing cockpit. I do not have a dry weight, a draft, or an engine list on the card I copied, so those are not here.
Owner photos to editor@mycobalt.net. I live in the Seattle area. If the Coastal meant the old boat came out of the slip, list it here for $25 (or $50 premium). This is not an R4 Coastal for sale.
