Selling a Cobalt and want club owners to see it? Here is exactly how to list on MyCobalt — plain steps, club rates, and what I need from you so the ad goes live clean.
MyCobalt is the Cobalt Boat Owners Club classifieds board (plus a little news). I post owner ads from editor@mycobalt.net. Rates stay simple: $25 basic or $50 premium. Start at mycobalt.net/advertise.
1. Pick basic or premium
- Basic — $25: 90 days on the board, up to 9 photos, your asking price and contact
- Premium — $50: same photo count, longer/unlimited run so the ad stays up while you sell
Looking for a Cobalt instead of selling one? Wanted ads are $25 on the same advertise page. Dealers: ask about the monthly pack.
2. Gather what I need before you pay
Email goes smoother when this is ready:
- Year, model, and drive — e.g. 2018 R5, Volvo sterndrive (or Surf / Coastal / outboard if that is what you have)
- Hours and engine notes — hours if you know them; recent service; trailer yes/no
- Asking price and city/state — where the boat sits for viewing
- Up to 9 photos — exterior, helm, engine bay, trailer if included; daylight, upright, no heavy filters
- HIN / hull serial — optional in the public ad, but helpful for title match; I keep it when you send it
- Contact — phone and/or email you want buyers to use (I strip these later if you confirm sold)
No need for a novel. Short and honest sells better than hype.
3. Pay, then email the listing
- Go to mycobalt.net/advertise and pay the $25 or $50 button
- Email editor@mycobalt.net with subject like “List my 2016 R3 — paid” plus the details and photos (or a link to a photo folder)
- I build the WordPress post, tick Boats For Sale plus the right
Cobalt {model}category, set a featured image, and reply when it is live
If photos bounce the inbox, say so and we will use a shared link. Do not paste card numbers in email — PayPal on the advertise page handles payment.
4. What the live ad looks like
Club ads sit on the homepage boats-for-sale feed and in the model category so owners browsing a specific hull find you. I write in first person as the club editor — clear specs, your asking price, and a soft path back to advertise for the next seller. Factory model pages still live on cobaltboats.com/models if buyers want current-book context.
5. After it sells (or you change your mind)
- Sold: email me and I strip phone and email from the post. I do not delete sold ads — that history helps the next buyer and keeps the club archive useful
- Price drop / more photos: reply in the same thread; I update the live post
- Pull the ad early: say the word and I take contact info down the same way
6. Quick checklist
- ☐ Pay $25 or $50 at /advertise
- ☐ Email year/model, hours, price, location, contact, photos to editor@
- ☐ Watch for my “you’re live” reply with the URL
- ☐ When it sells, tell me so I can strip contact info
